Half Truth

Everything we know, everything we see,
is both half true and half false.

The cup is half empty.
The cup is half full.
Both are true.
Neither is the whole truth.

We argue. We debate. We fight.
Trying to prove our side is right,
as if one perspective could contain the entirety of reality.

But truth is not an endpoint.
It’s not a flag planted on one side of the battlefield.

It’s a dance
a constant flow between perspectives,
a bridge connecting opposites.

Night exists because of day.
Joy is understood through sorrow.
Every truth carries its shadow.
Every perspective is incomplete.

When we cling to being right,
we close ourselves to the fullness of truth.
We build walls instead of bridges.

But when we accept that every story,
every viewpoint, every belief
is half true and half false,
something shifts within us.

We no longer need to win.
We no longer need the other side to lose.
We simply allow what is.

In that acceptance,
a quiet peace settles in.

Here’s the question:
Do we always have to win?
Can the other side be true, too?

Thank you for reading.
